Intellectual Property Law Firm Kacvinsky Daisak Bluni Expands Legal Team on Both U.S. Coasts

Tim Wyckoff Joins as Partner in Washington State; Firm Adds Two Lawyers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania

BOSTON, April 12, 2016 – Kacvinsky Daisak Bluni PLLC announces the arrival of experienced intellectual property lawyer Tim Wyckoff as partner based in Washington State, strengthening the firm’s national footprint on the West coast. KDB also announces the additions of associates Erin Martell and Trevor Bannister in its New Jersey office and in Pittsburgh, respectively.

With more than 15 years of experience in IP law, including several years as in-house counsel for a large German semiconductor company, Wyckoff joins KDB from SpryIP, LLC, which he founded in 2009. His practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution in electrical engineering, computer science and other technology applications, portfolio management and client counseling.

“Tim is a terrific addition to our team,” said Scott Bluni, KDB partner and Chief Operating Officer. “His experience aligns perfectly with our model of hiring experienced and specialized IP talent. Tim’s background and perspective as both a seasoned patent and in-house lawyer will serve our clients well on the West coast and beyond.”

For Wyckoff, the attraction to KDB was the firm’s efficient operating model as a national network of lawyers and the high caliber of KDB’s work for clients.

“It was a natural fit,” said Wyckoff, noting that he was “very impressed” with KDB’s partner involvement in client cases and vision for the 30-lawyer firm. “KDB and I are both looking to expand our client bases and share the same values of impeccable client treatment, innovation and flexibility.”

In addition to being in private practice, Wyckoff was an in-house attorney overseas in Munich for a large semiconductor company, where he was responsible for developing and implementing an in-house U.S. patent procurement filing strategy for the company. A graduate of George Mason University School of Law with a concentration in IP, Wyckoff has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from George Mason University.

Erin Martell joins the firm as an associate based in the Princeton office. Previously with Kenyon and Kenyon and BSH Home Appliances Corporation, Martell graduated with a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She received her Master’s degree in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and her Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering from Boston University.

Trevor Bannister joins KDB from Pepper Hamilton. Based in Pittsburgh, Bannister is a J.D. graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and a B.A. graduate in both computer science and biological sciences from the State University of New York.
